Holbrook Writer's Group - AM Edition

Tuesday, December 211:30 AM—12:30 PMComputer AreaHolbrook Public Library2 Plymouth Street, Holbrook, MA, 02343

Writers of Holbrook and the wider OCLN network, please join us for our third meeting of the Holbrook Writer's Group and the first of the morning meetings. Some patrons requested a daytime version of this group so we hope to see you there. Share your stories with other writers, get feedback if you want, and feel inspired!

As a fledgling group we are figuring out how we want these meetings to go and looking for feedback. For December's meeting we will look at how to structure a story and how to write a character sketch. We can also discuss if we would rather spending the time sharing our own writings or only what we write for the prompts, etc.

At our previous meeting we decided to try some Writing Prompts for next month; this is NOT required to attend but please feel free to flex your writing muscles and bring your example!

Choose one prompt and please limit to 1,000 words or less:

  • What are some of the chores you had to do as a kid?
  • What songs would be on the soundtrack of your high school experience?
  • Describe a memory you have of a perfect summer day?
  • What was your favorite Halloween costume you’ve ever worn?
  • Describe your childhood bedroom. List a few objects you remember vividly.

Or choose from the Word Prompts:

Create a story using one, some, or all of the following words:

  • Universal
  • Clear
  • Empty
  • Legendary
  • Outlaw
