June's Murder Mystery selection is : The Sentence is Death by Anthony Horowitz
The Sentence Is Death is a 2019 mystery novel by Anthony Horowitz, the second in his "Hawthorne and Horowitz" series, featuring the author as a Watson-like sidekick to the brilliant but difficult private investigator Daniel Hawthorne. The plot follows the duo as they investigate the murder of a high-profile divorce lawyer, Richard Pryce, who is bludgeoned with an expensive bottle of wine, despite being a teetotaler, and left with a mysterious three-digit number painted on the wall. The book is a traditional whodunit with a modern, meta twist, blending fact and fiction as Horowitz chronicles Hawthorne's investigation into the lawyer's many enemies.
